This Creepy Thriller

The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the struggle between God and Mammon, the winner is obvious for Mammon in this director's delightfully tacky biopic regarding the shamed televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. The actor acts as the corrupt Bakker, who proclaims early on, “God does not want us to be poor,”. Both individuals set about capitalizing on the people's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of poor styling, overdone appearance and bad faith, yet the lead actress succeeds to show the character with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
