Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on court had led some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent rescued four initial chances in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
